Why open a care home in Chorleywood and when did you come here?
Rebuilt and opened in September 2022, Burford House was rebuilt then and is carefully designed to promote independence and choice within a warm, welcoming family community. It offers the ultimate in luxury living alongside exceptional residential and nursing care in the heart of Chorleywood, Hertfordshire. Having operated the previous service provision at the same site since 2004, Westgate Healthcare Group LTD, a family-owned and run care group, identified the need to modernise and provide specialist purpose-built facilities within the local community.
What should we know about your team?
Home Manager, Brenda has worked in the health and social care sector for over 40 years and has a passion for delivering high-quality, individualised care for the elderly, backed by a care team who are well-led, trained and supported to be exceptional and who go the extra mile. All inspected Westgate Healthcare homes are rated ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ by the sector regulator and the Care Quality Commission.

What matters most?
Maintaining personal lifestyle choices and the well-being of residents is priority at Burford House. The team plan focused personalised activities in conjunction with residents’ wishes and the home boasts its own “Creativity Hub”, whereby residents can maintain their independence with daily practical activities such as cooking, painting and other lifestyle programmes in conjunction with local community groups and facilities.
What specific services do you offer?
Burford House is more than just a care home in Chorleywood. Offering luxury living alongside high-quality residential and nursing services. Each floor has a unique identity bringing the outside in, with spacious light corridors, a variety of social lounges and sensory spaces. All 46 individual suites are designed to the highest specifications and the home houses a whole host of amenities to compliment residents’ lifestyle choices- from the at-home café, Burford Bar, and fine dining room to the cinema room, Orangery, spa bathroom and luxury hair and nail salon.
What are your hopes for the future of Burford House?
The team at Burford House Care Home in Chorleywood are looking forward to re-connecting with the local community, building on the highly commended reputation of the previous service and providing exceptional care services to fellow community members. The aim is to provide a home from home environment for residents within the local area.
